Correction of exercises

a) The major fit has priority over the minor fit : 4ª
b) With 26 H points, you declare 3NT without worrying about the minor fit. Notice that with 29 DH points you could not bid game in Clubs.
c) This time, with only 21 points, you should prefer to play in Diamonds; 26 DH points allow you to play 3©. Show that in a No-Trumps contract the opponents will make at least five Hearts and the Ace of Spades and perhaps a Diamond trick.
d) No minor contract with only an eight card fit: therefore 1NT.

Comprehension questions

b) Which contract scores the most? 3© + 1 or 1NT + 2 ? 2¨ + 3 or 2ª + 2 ?
c) Ask for a volunteer to explain an indirect finesse (with 8 - 3 for K - 2).
