Correction of exercises
a) Profit from this example to come back to the notion of a small risk (-1pt) in a competitive situation. Check that all your pupils have accurately counted 24 DH points in the side: so they are one point short to bid 3 over 2, and the over-bid is automatic whatever the vulnerability. On the other hand, they are three points short to bid 4: that is not allowed whatever the vulnerability (advice 19.1).

b) This time with 23 DH points in the two hands, it is obvious to over-bid to 2 … and normal to overbid to 3 not vulnerable ("medium" risk). Show that on most occasions you would need to do it: being vulnerable the opponents will most often only have 23 DH points in their hands and will not have the means to over-bid to 3.

Comprehension questions

a) Not vulnerable, how many tricks can you afford to fail by, if he opponents would make a part game contract?
b) Same question, if vulnerable?
c) What is a small medium risk? [?!]
