COMMUNICATION : BLOCKAGE Explain that the previous
lesson was about playing the suits in the best way possible in order not
to get blocked, but cases do exist where blockage automatically exists.
Ask your pupils how many tricks they can hope to make in the suit: the answer four is likely to come quickly. Then ask them if they can take them one after the other. Show them that once they have played the Ace and the King there is no small card to get back to the Queen and the Jack. Insist on the necessity for a communication outside the suit to cash in the master tricks where there is a blockage.
